Flower Care

Most of our floral arrangements will last at least a week with some tender loving care, but here are some tips to increase your flowers’ longevity. For a bouquet, wash your vase with detergent or a drop of bleach, and fill three-quarters of the vase with lukewarm water, and add the flower food provided with your arrangement.

Next, remove any leaves that will sit below the waterline, as leaves promote bacterial growth and limit the water uptake of the flowers. Keep the string tied around your bouquet to maintain the arrangement or remove it if you wish to create your own.

Place the flowers in the vase solution you’ve prepared and your arrangement is ready to give you lasting pleasure. Display your flowers in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling, and add fresh water daily. For arrangements of flowers in floristry foam, add a cup of water mixed with some of the flower food every day.

If your flowers arrive in a water pack they are ready for display. The water pack already contains flower food. You may leave the flowers in this display however, if you wish to re-arrange them please open the pack in a sink. If there are lilies in your floral display, we suggest you pull off the stamens as the lilies open. The lily pollen may stain your clothes or furniture. To clean pollen from an item dab it off with sticky tape, instead of using water.
